Laura Callaghan is a professional textural mixed media ecofeminist artist, born in Margate in Kent, and now living and working in Saltdean, Brighton in East Sussex, UK.

Laura’s artworks are inspired by the natural world, and mixed media and paint are at the heart of her artistic output. For Laura, the sea and nature are her sanctuary.

Laura’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in her reverence for the natural world, finding solace and inspiration in the boundless expanse of our world and oceans.

Working organically, Laura incorporates collaged ephemera and found objects into her art, layering translucent paints to imbue her canvases with hidden depths and nuanced meaning. Each artwork becomes a unique journey, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a captivating visual exploration of the world around us.

The result was a stunning piece, combining lovely shades of blue, with hints of orange, and wonderful textures, which catch the light in so many different ways, depending on the time of day and where you stand to view it.
