Introducing “Sea, Sky, Salt, Soil” – An Exhibition of the Sussex Coastline

25 July 2025

I’m delighted to share the launch of my upcoming exhibition, Sea, Sky, Salt, Soil: Art of the Sussex Coastline, which will take place from 15–19 October 2025 at The Crypt Gallery, Seaford, East Sussex.

This exhibition is a celebration of the Sussex coast in all its elemental presence — its shifting skies, salt-laced air, tidal rhythms, and chalk-white cliffs. It’s also the next chapter in my ongoing artistic inquiry into how we live in deeper relationship with place, ecology, and the interwoven systems of land and sea.

Through mixed-media works, design, ceramics, and jewellery, Sea, Sky, Salt, Soil explores the textures, tensions, and fragile beauty of this coastline — not just as landscape, but as lived, shared experience.

Alongside my own work, I’m proud to present selected contributions from exceptional Sussex-based artists including:

  • Julian Warrender (jewellery)
  • Julie Ingham (design and print)
  • Kate McMinnies (ceramics)

Each brings a distinct interpretation of the natural world.... sea-worn surfaces to organic forms shaped by salt, soil, and wind.
